Jingle Jam, or formally known as ”Winter Formal”, is a school dance Putnam City Original holds every year in December. This event, unlike Prom, allows any grade level to attend; not just upperclassmen. Jingle Jam is a great way for freshmen and sophomores as well as any juniors or seniors who wish to attend to get involved in school activities as well as Putnam City Original culture.

Jingle Jam is holiday themed and is a great way to get all students who attend into the holiday spirit. With many lights up and other holiday themed decorations around, the festive atmosphere is set.

“Winter Formal (Jingle Jam) is a time for all four classes of PCO to get dressed up, go eat dinner, dance, talk, take pictures and enjoy the festive holiday season”, Winter Formal Chair / sponsor Angie Slover said.

The formal dance is put together by PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) and Leadership students. Everyone who is involved puts a ton of time and energy into making every Winter Formal better than the last.

“For the Winter Formal this year, we are trying to get everyone involved. We want as many people as we can to help out, because we really want it to be put together. Winter formal is one of those things that many freshmen go to and we want them to have as much fun as possible,” junior Gabriela Ulloa said.

Overall the dance was a success. With a much higher amount of students attending this year than the last, The Jingle Jam proved to be a memorable event for everyone who attended.

“I’m a freshman, and I’m always told that the Winter Formal is a really fun thing to go to and you should always go especially if it is your freshman year,” freshman Riley Shaw said
